A one-piece solid machined Aluminum tool that replaces the locally fabricated tool called out in the Gulfstream GVII series AMM.
Different in form, fit, and function from the tool currently called out it allows for a 200% reduction in the time required to change the Hydraulic Quantity RVDT in the Gulfstream GVII series aircraft.
Instead of clipping the RVDT sensor into the end, the machined slot and flat face of the tool allow the installer to pull the clip onto the end of the tool using the RVDT spring loaded retraction and manipulate the clip through the access hole with unmatched controllability.
As a benefit, the increased length, better control, and different use of the tool allows for the RVDT to be changed without overservicing the reservoirs. This cuts down on the follow on maintenance and decreases aircraft down time when performing that maintenance task.
